Marie-Louise Hellgren

Marie-Louise Hellgren is a major Swedish designer working mainly in ceramics. Her portfolio includes a number of ceramics classics, including traditional Höganäs and more contemporary work for the Design House of Stockholm. It is essential to Marie Louise that her ceramics inspire and contribute to daily life. Simplicity, functionality and elegance characterise her work.

Chang & Biorck are pleased to feature her new bone china tea pots as well as her tea cups, Ao and Tu, which complement each other but can also stand as individual pieces. The saucers symbolise the sun and the moon, two elements which were inspired by her visit to the altar at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing.

Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg

Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg is one of Sweden’s foremost textile designers. Since 1987 she has been designing carpet collections for Kasthall where she is chief in-house designer.

Travel and nature are key elements in Gunilla’s remarkable patterns and colour combinations. When creating fabrics for Chang & Biorck, she takes inspiration from traditional Chinese materials and marries these with Scandinavian designs, producing contemporary elegant fabrics. Her fabric “Tiao” won the Formidable prize at the Design Fair in Stockholm 2003.
